My work delves into the beauty and profound interconnectedness of nature, weaving together my background in ecology and my passion for artistic expression. Guided by my fascination for understanding the complexities of ecological systems, I channel my observations and insights into clay or onto paper. My creations aim not simply to celebrate natural forms and textures, but also to provoke thought, question our impact, and remind us of our role as stewards of nature.

My artistic practice embraces experimentation. For example, I am fascinated by handcrafting my own glazes which help me to create effects on my ceramics that resembling the weathered surface one would find on ancient rocks or on sunken treasures at the bottom of the sea. Each technique adds depth and complexity to my creations, inviting viewers to explore beyond the surface. The tactile connection between my hands and the clay is essential for me. The imperfections in my vessels remind of the imperfections in our world, urging viewers to reflect and celebrate the uniqueness of each living organism.

Besides my love for clay, I also enjoy working with other artistic mediums, including watercolor, pastel, printmaking, collage, and installation. Regardless of which medium, my artistic process often involves extensive fieldwork and research. This approach allows me to infuse my work with authenticity and a deep sense of connection to the themes I explore.

Ultimately, my work offers a visual exploration of the profound connections between humans and nature. It is my sincere hope that my creations inspire others to rekindle their relationship with the natural world and foster a sense of awe and responsibility for its preservation. In this delicate dance between my artistic and scientific thinking, I invite you to join me in celebrating the beauty that surrounds us and creating positive change.
